Best PC Speakers 2016

Updated on November 16, 2015

Nearly every PC comes with some sort of basic speakers, generally they are not very good. If you want to upgrade, there are plenty of great alternatives available.

In best PC speakers 2016 we are going to review the best new speakers spread out across a few price categories. Hopefully you can find something that fits your pocket.

I do have a bias towards larger speakers, they tend to deliver better, more full-bodied sound. Also keep in mind that speakers can amplify the sound from anything with a headphone jack, including iPods.

Audioengine 5

If you have the money for it, in our opinion the Audioengine 5 is the best speakers of 2016. I really didn't think they could make speakers with this kind of sound clarity, for less than $400.

With its real life bass effects and compact speakers, the Audioengine 5 brings you a power packed performance. The bass effect is life like and gives you the best output, whether you are listening to rap, classical music or watching movies.

The Kevlar woofers and silk dome tweeters are top of the line. With their cool design these speakers fit in, no matter which part of the house you are installing them in.

The Audioengine 5 works well with mobile phones, flat panel TVs, your Ipod, smart phones and DVD players. It is an ideal fit for satellite receivers, digital radio and even video games. It can deliver a frequency response in the range of 50Hz to 22000Hz. You can also connect other products by using a simple RCA output or 1/8 mini jacks.

The whole device comes in a thick MDF cabinet that creates a rich sound stage.

Logitech S220

The Logitech S220 is our pick as best budget PC speakers of 2016. The sound isn't as good as some of the other speakers, reviewed here, but it's still better than the standard speakers most PCs come with. I wouldn't go any cheaper than that though.

The slim design is suitable for a variety of configurations. With the Logitech bass effect, you will never lack in true to life music.

There are wired pods that carry the speaker controls. You can place these on the tabletop or even the desktop.

The biggest advantage of this series is its compact design. You can fit it in practically everywhere, without compromising on the quality of sound you are getting. There are effective volume controls and headphone inputs that can add power to your MP3 player, without costing a small fortune. The large volume control dial microphone and headphone inputs are perfect for setups that work with voice over IP setups.

Logitech Z-5 USB Stereo Speakers

These Logitech Z-5 speakers are designed for use with either a PC or Mac. No matter which part of the room you are listening to the music from, you get a uniform and even flow. This is part of the omnni-directional acoustics made famous by this brand and only available on expensive sound systems till now. The Z5 series comes with a remote control that lets you make the most of the unit wirelessly.

The Z5 has USB connectivity. That means you don't have to carry a power cable around with you. You can move the speakers around with your laptop and use it wherever you like.

The Z5 comes with a remote that can be used with both the Mac and the PC. You can now enjoy all the options wirelessly. What’s more, since they are compatible with both, you can practically use these speakers with any computer you want.

Wireless operation and great music that sounds just as good as the original music is what the Logitech Z-5 USB Stereo Speakers deliver.

Altec Lansing FX3022 Expressionist BASS 2-Way Speaker

This Altec powerhouse provides you uniform and state of the art music output that is suitable for any home. The best part of this series lies in its compact design that incorporates a subwoofer which is placed directly inside the speakers. You can now enjoy the clearest sounds and booming bass effects without speakers that take up a lot of space.

The FX 3022 series works well with MP3 players, computers and a variety of other digital sources. It brings prerecorded music to life and adds a separate dimension to all your video and DVD viewing.

Another attractive point to this series is its unique design. There are sleek lines and a rich finish that blends in with the décor in most homes.

You can connect just about anything to these speakers and get the same high quality output.

It comes with a one year warranty that should be convenient for users.
