Best gas hedge trimmer reviews

Updated on December 2, 2015

There are 3 kinds of hedge trimmers: electric, cordless electric and gas powered. The problem with electric trimmers are that you need to run the power cord to wherever you are working. Cordless trimmers are a little low on power and it only works till the battery runs out of juice. In my opinion power tools that are low on power aren't any good. Gas powered hedge trimmers are perfect, but they are a little more pricey than the other 2 options.

In this article we will review some of the best gas hedge trimmers.

Poulan Pro 25HHT 22-Inch 25cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Hedge Trimmer

The Poulan Pro's 22-inch steel cutting blade has a cutting capacity of up to 3/4 inch in diameter. It has the power to let you get the job done faster. Unlike other gas hedge trimmers this one won't die when you use it upside down.

This trimmer comes with a 2 year limited warranty which gives you some peace of mind.

It really is a very good high quality hedge trimmer.

Work gloves and safety goggles
If you are going to be working with a gas powered hedge trimmer you should probably get some good leather gloves and a pair of safety goggles. I like that these 2 products are yellow, because it makes them easier to find, between my other DIY tools. There is nothing special about these products, they are just long lasting high quality safety equipment. Considering how cheap they are I would recommend buying them with your trimmer.

Factory-reconditioned hedge trimmer

If the other hedge trimmers are a little pricey for you, why not consider a factory-reconditioned one. Factory-reconditioned power tools are tools which have been returned for whatever reason. The factory then replaces any parts that show signs of wear and tear. There may be some cosmetic signs of previous use, but the product is usually as good as new, because the producers won't will tarnish their brand if they put out low quality reconditioned tools.

Cub Cadet 40 HC

This trimmer has a 40 inch blade, almost double the length of a standard hedge trimmer. The blade allows you to quickly trim even the largest and thickest bushes.

This trimmers engine is made in Japan, no cheap Chinese stuff. You'll find that the engine delivers all the power you need and I found it easy to start.

This tools is shipped fully assembled.

The trimmer is lighter than it looks, considering the length of the blade, this is a real plus.

Briggs gas can

You will need one of these for your power tool. This 1-1/4 Gallon has a clever nozzle which stops pouring once your power tool's container is full. Also the can is child proof.
